Here are specific examples of shoddy work.
- New sodded area as rough as a plowed field. (It was smooth as a putting green when Randy arrived. I called him twice about this.
- Roots up to two inches in diameter and two feet long were left sticking up into the air. (I removed them to keep my wife from tripping when she walks the dogs in our yard at night.)
- Plastic irrigation control/valve boxes were put conspicuously in sodded area instead of in mulched area as T-Squared (a competitor) does. Boxes stick up several inches instead sitting of flush as T-Squared puts them. This will be a problem when mowing.
- After saying it would be fixed as part of the job (by Randy or the city), the sidewalk left as broken pieces and red mud. (I called him twice about this.)
- Numerous black plastic straps and white pipe pieces were dropped wherever they were cut.
- Flags were left all over the yard for me to remove.
- The plastic pipe that drains my basement was crushed by the trencher and left for me to find and replace.
- Cement bench was taken apart and left on ground in pieces for me to reassemble.
- Stepping stones were replaced without regard to any existing pattern in the path—sections of two, two, two pattern were replaced as one, one, one—some stones broken, others just tossed to the side away from the path.
- One spray head was placed sticking up in the center of an open area where it can trip someone (why not flush?).
None of this shoddy work is present in his job at the Presbyterian church across the street. My job was only $4,000. He's may be okay for a big company where lots of people will know he did the work.
Pros: Did put in an irrigation system.
Cons: Shoddy work
