Review content:
I received a gift certificate for Designs by Donna so I thought I would give it a try. First they were unfamiliar with the gift certificate I had to their salon. The owner, Donna, had to call the company that issued it to me.
Donna was my hair stylist and I felt I was being treated as a "freebie" instead of as a valued customer who could one day return.
I told Donna I had trouble finding people who could cut and manage thick curly/wavy hair. She told me that it would be easier if she just trimmed what I had. That was not why I was getting my hair cut, however I didn't want her to cut my hair if she felt uncomfortable with thick curly hair so I just let her trim it.
Donna talked to one of her other stylist the entire time she was cutting my hair. I had to hear about their love lives and problems for 20 minutes. When she was done she didn't even blow dry my hair, she told me it would be extra and that my gift certificate was for only a cut (not a cut and a style).
Right then and there I decided that I would never return. She got a tip only because I felt guilty about not paying for the cut to begin with. I received another gift certificate about three weeks later for the same salon and gave it to a friend and told her "good luck." She too was not impressed and has not returned
