First, let me say that we have used Tenaker many times without incident. Our dog has always come back well cared for and happy.
Last September, we attempted to pick up our dog late at night using Tanaker's coded entry system. We were unable to unlock the special holding area and came back the next morning. Obviously, we may have misunderstood the 4-digit code.
However, this year, we had the same problem. I was on the phone when my wife clearly stated that we would be picking up our dog this coming SUNDAY. When we arrived, the combination that we used worked, BUT, the 'deadbolt' lock prevented us from picking up our dog. When we arrived the next morning, the owner said that we had said that we were scheduled to pick up our dog on MONDAY, something that was IMO a BALD FACED LIE. The owner was adamant and all that I thought of was, this guy is a choirboy and we had better pay up and leave. The owner then attempted to process the debit and threw a 'credit rejected' stub at me. There was only one problem: I had not used this card since last June when I lost it. Somehow this kennel keeps one's credit card information on file, which is IMO unethical. I subsequently threw the small credit rejection card back at him with an expletive and walked out. He threatened to call the police, which he did. Since I had no problem with police, assuming that they are ethical, my wife and I wait in the car until the police arrived. We promptly paid the full bill and left.
Not a way to conduct business IMO. They may be all smiles, but we were not treated with respect.
