Remember how Julia Roberts was treated in "Pretty Woman" when she went in that first clothing store? Well, that's how I feel now when I shop at Zooeys. I've been shopping at Zooeys since Karla opened the place. I've spent thousands of dollars there, but times have changed and the new owner has a different attitude toward "customers". I was chastised, scolded and put in my place, for wanting to return something, which I had every right to do, being the customer, after all. Today, I was told that the store policy was to hold items only through the end of the business day. A friend called and asked the same question and was told items could be held for three days. I must say I did not and do not feel welcome in a store I used to visit literally everyday. I will not return. Nordstrom and on-line offer the same items with more selection, friendlier service and less attitude. This is Corvallis, not Beverly Hills. Zooeys used to be my favorite clothing store of all, including Nordstrom, so I'm sad that their attitude toward me, as a customer has eroded to this point. If you're new to Corvallis, make sure you're the right "type" to shop there. If so, you'll probably love the place, but genuine and truly congenial, it's not. I had to give a rating of one star because it was required or I would have blanked it.
