Review content:
This is one of Virginia's very nice state parks. There is of course the nature trails, camping, and picnic shelters, but honestly we go here in the summer for the swimming. There are several pools (kiddie pool included) and water slides. One pool is very shallow and full of activities for kids. They have water guns to shoot, buckets to spill on people, falls to play under, and slides into the water. We've been taking our son since he was 1. There are also 2 large tube type water slides and regular pools to swim in. You can bring your own food or buy from their concession stand. They also have changing facilities which of course are basic and the floor is wet. I suggest water shoes for the littles ones because all the concrete is tough on their feet. If you have a large group you can buy a ticket for 10 or 20 people. (Even if you don't use all the punches, it's cheaper than everyone paying full price.)
