Recently I was searching for something along the line of fine art for a colleague's Birthday. After looking to no avail at many and varied gift shops throughout the area, it dawned on me to try
The Artisans gallery.
Located on east Washington street, this gift shop is very easy to find and easier still to spend a lot of time within! When I entered I was struck with the simple lines, the clean look and of course the varied art from local artisans. The variety was not exceptionally large but it was nice and I ended up finding a small article that I honestly debated about keeping for myself and not giving to my friend...:-).
Although the prices can seem a bit steep, the quality of the products sold here are top notch and definitely not something you would find at your local wholesale store.
To make a long story short, my friend loved her gift and I have now become an "Artisans Gallery" fan.
If you need something special or are just looking for something in the line of fine craftsmanship, try the Iowa Artisans gallery....they most likely will have just what you've been looking for.
