Good: Dr. Burke seems to care about his patients, and he does seem to be very knowlegable in regards to lyme disease. He will take the time to listen to you..in fact, to much when it's 11PM at night, and you've been waiting 5 hours to see him, and you just want him to discuss the vital points.. Bad: The staff changes,no sense of congruity in the office.Staff unprofessional, even they seemed confused.I've paid for visits, only to have him charge my insurance for same visit. Not legal. I'm owed money still. Disorganization is reason for wait, he over-explains himself, always seems 1/2 asleep, doesn't encourage any other opinions ("he's all you need".)Encouraged to not exercise while on treatment, but my muscles certainly atrophied and I'm weaker now then before my 13 wks of treatment, and no better.. Improvements: I'd like to see that the treatment he prescribes to patients work on him. Always told (on the long wait, 1/2 falling asleep while talking to you, etc) he's got lyme too. So, if he treated himself years ago (and still treats himself) and is still functioning poorly, what hope is there for anyone else he treats?. Other: I won't go back to Dr. Burke. He may be a nice man,but somethings not right there. While putting my IV catheter in,he left the room and had a nurse put one in him the next room: coming back in w/ blood on his coat, etc. In the meantime, he needed to give me more sedation to continue my procedure. He took hrs. hospital does it in 30 min.Insisted only he could do. Additionally, spirochete (lyme) live off of sugar, he doesn't encourage whole health, good eating, exercise. this seems fundamental to any illness..
