Drown; -verb to die under the water. "Near Drowning" implies that one was near death. In reference to the incident mentioned here, the child required no medical attention and actually remained in the water to finish the class. Elite has worked with children for over 35 years; our main goals are to help children grow up safe, happy and healthy. At this time, as well as the time in question, Elite ensures the safety of its students by staffing its classes in such a manner, that there is a Red Cross certified life guard in the pool during class times. In addition, Elite has on staff a certified EMT who is often on the premises during swimming lessons. The EMT was asked to asses the situation on the night in question, and it was his professional opinion that there was not a crisis situation. While Elite appreciates and respect a persons right to free speech, we ask that care be taken to insure that the facts be disseminated correctly.
