Businiess name:  Cafe Venice

Review content:
My husband and I dined at the Venice this past Saturday night (March 21, 2009). There was a long wait, so we put our name in and waited along with everyone else. When we were finally seated (along with 2 other couples), our food did not arrive until well past 9:00pm. (My husband and I were seated at 7:40pm!) Adding to our frustraiton was the lack of communication from our waitress. She would race past our table without nary a care as to what was taking so long or how soon our food will arrive. Then again, our waitress was some college kid who was more interested in chatting it up with some people she knew in the booth behind us, rather than being attentive to all the patrons she was serving. I have worked in the restaurant industry as a line cook so I know the drill. If I had to guess I'd say our ditzy waitress forgot to put our order in. Had she been honest with us, I would have been more understanding but instead she ignored us while we sat and watched people receive their food who were seated long AFTER we were. The food is great, I will kudos to Venice on that front, but the way I feel right now, I am not sure the food is worth going back for considering the service s*cks!!!! The owners need to ixnay those ditzy young college girls and bring in some mature experienced talent.
