Review content:
I went to O/8 for a date and was very impressed by the by-the-glass wine pairings. The monkfish wrapped in pancetta was outstanding, and they aren't kidding when they call the seafood bisque "sex on a spoon."
The server mentioned that they served a weekend brunch, but I dismissed that as a hotel location standard... until I went in Saturday morning, nursing a gentle hangover.
The beef tenderloin hash is, as the server put it "a committment". The poached eggs were so smooth I mistook them at first for sour cream, topped with spirals of green onion.
The dish was unexpectedly and totally delicious. It's not a dry fried hash like I'm accustomed to at diners; it's a smooth sauce and roasted vegetables and the beef is top notch, tender and robed in a sauce that accelerates your fork.
The tenderloin hash sets a pretty high bar, but I'm definitely coming back to see what else is that good.
