Review content:
I went to WSIM as a new patient 4 weeks ago. I had a fairly early appointment (9:30 I think) and had to wait 45 minutes to get in. My wait was not very pleasant, as they had Maury Povich and his paternity tests on the TV at a pretty loud volume. Once I did get in to meet with the PA, she was very thorough in getting my medical history- I explained that I wanted to get my vitamin & iron levels checked because of my gastric bypass a few years ago, and I also suspected I was pregnant (which ended up being true). She said that wouldn't be a problem because they have a lab right in their office. After my visit with the PA was done, I had to wait another 30 minutes to see the lab person. She drew 6 vials of blood & said someone would contact me with the results. 4 weeks have gone by without a word from anyone in their office. Meanwhile, I had routine blood work done at my OB's office last week because I am 6 weeks pregnant. My OB's office called me this morning to ask if I knew I was severely anemic, and to tell me to start taking prescription iron pills right away. Ok, at this point I am TICKED off. I called Wall Street Internal medicine to give them an earful. The nurse, or whoever, says- "Oh, there is a note on your file that says you are anemic. Sorry no one called you." Her attitude kind of sounded like they take complaints like this all the time and what else is new? I will not be going back to this doctor's office.
