Four years ago my now pre-teen son shared an interest in taking TaeKwondo. But being like most parents of a first child, we were clueless as to where to turn for lessons. Until we happened on a friend whose sons had been taking TKD for the past few years.
These parents told us about Gym-Nest TKD lessons and to be perfectly honest, I would not have thought of them in this way....I mean the name is "Gym-Nest"...nowhere do they mention TKD! So it was a pleasant surprise when my son began lessons there, to learn they were in fact of a high quality.
Taught by members of Hawkeye TaeKwondo based at the University of Iowa, these lessons were both professional and demanding as well as interesting for the students involved. Kept relatively small, the students enjoy a good workout and receive excellent individual instruction for a very reasonable price. Located on Holiday Road just across I-80 from the CORALRIDGE MALL, parents find it is easy to drop their child off for lessons and do some quick shopping, knowing all the while their child will be well taken care of. Since joining TKD, my son has risen through the ranks and is now only 2 belts away from being a black belt...a dream of his from the beginning.
If you know someone who is interested in TKD, be sure to have them check out Gym-Nest....it is a great place to learn a sport such as TKD and to grow as a person as well.
