I moved to the area 2 years ago and quickly found this store. Have purchased many items for my grandchildren since then and had my daughter bring their outgrown clothing for consignment once with no problems. However, this past weekend had my daughter drive in from her home an hour away in Collegeville with a laundry basket full of freshly laundered children's clothing, wiped down a barely used crib which I'd stored at my home and borrowed a truck to accommodate the crib, driving another 12 to 15 miles from my home to the store, only to find (for the first time ever shopping there) a sign on their door stating they were taking no items that day. My daughter and I stood in the freezing cold dumbfounded in front of the store for a minute, crib parts in hand, and I suggested that she just go in and explain about the distance we'd come as well as borrowing a truck, and would they please just accept the crib that day? She reluctantly went in while I waited, was ignored for several minutes as two clerks checked out one person while another avoided eye contact and when finally addressed, she explained and was given a flat out no - - that there were no checks that day to write for consignments. Ok, we get it, but in this day and age of so many out of work, must they employ people so uncaring that they can't even say sorry for your trouble? Came home and Googled children's consignment shops in the Reading and Lancaster areas and we will surely be taking all future business elsewhere. Oh, I first wrote this complaint to management the following day prior to posting posting it here 5 days later, and have heard nothing back, so therefore wanted to put it out for the public. Beware, if you are so desperate as to give this store your business, call first and get the name of the person giving you the ok to bring your items - - not that it would matter with the attitude prevailing there should they decide to change their decision before you arrive!
