Just Crop It in Rockville is a bit off the beaten path for Baltimore area shoppers, but it’s worth the trip, so I try to make it down there a few times a year. The store is in a funny little strip mall that looks a bit like former warehouses; it’s on Randolph Road just off the main drag of Rockville Pike (but keep your eyes peeled when you go—it’s easy to miss it). The store itself is deceptively large—my first impression was that it wasn’t well stocked because there seemed to be so few things on the shelves, but it turns out that it is actually very well stocked but has so much space that products don’t need to be crowded. They have many products that you won’t find elsewhere (including some really nice specialty papers), but best of all is that they stock the QuicKutz die cutting system. It’s sold at a discount at all times and they usually have a lot of the alphabets and shape dies in stock. They will special order anything from QuicKutz that they don’t have in stock. Every single person I’ve dealt with at the store has been really nice, too, so it’s a pleasure to shop there. The first time I went, half of the electricity in the store had been knocked out by a summer storm, but they kept it open and hand-wrote all the receipts and used a battery operated adding machine to total everything. That’s dedication!
