Review content:
It was a few years since I stepped into a record store but on April 19th, 2008 which was national record store day I decided to take a trip. New Paltz has the only two record stores that are closest to my house which is about 35 miles away. I went to the first record store that I knew of in New Paltz and found that all the new releases were overpriced and they didn't carry a large selection of new vinyl. Then I went over to Jack's Rhythms and was amazed at the great selection of indie rock vinyl that he had and that the prices are very reasonable. I felt very comfortable browsing around and talking to Jack. He is very knowledgeable in all genres of music. He didn't have the two 7" records that I was looking for but said that he could order them for me. After about a week I got a call that both my albums were in and that he set them aside for me. I went that following Saturday to pick them up and I've been going to Jack's Rhythms every Saturday since. It is the highlight of my weekend and I always come out of there with something unique. This week it was three Miles Davis albums that Jack recommended for me and he was spot on with his selections. I have the feeling that I'll be spending most of my Saturday mornings taking a drive over to Jack's Rhythms to see what new music I can add to my collection. It's great to be buying vinyl again!
