Businiess name:  Carmen's Day Care
Review by:  J L.
Review content:
My son was an infant (8 weeks old) when I returned to work. I had "shopped" around at other daycares and Carmen's was the one (of the ones with availability) that I chose, mainly due to being close to home. I was already apprehensive about leaving him anyway, just because I was so attached to him, and it killed me inside to leave him in someone else's care & trust. I cried all the way to work that first morning. My son only stayed a week. This is because one of the workers came up to me outside after picking him up one day that week and told me some of the things that go on in this place. HORRID! They propped my son's bottle up in the car seat while feeding him and if he cried, Carmen DARED anyone to pick him up and hold him because her words were "It will spoil him and we'd have to hold him all the time." HE'S AN INFANT!!! That's what you are supposed to DO! He had a rash under his neck that was really bad, now I knew why! There were other things that this worker told me, such as they use a wash cloth to wipe off the diapered children and just rinse it out in a basin. THEN USE IT AGAIN on ANOTHER child!! Gross! My son had a HORRIBLE diaper rash around the 2nd day he was there. I had taken him to the Dr. for a scheduled visit one morning and was told he had an "infection". So, I took the Rx cream with us to the daycare when dropping him off that morning. After picking him up, the SEAL on the tube had not even been punctured! That really ticked me off, because I talked to MISS CARMEN myself and told her this needed to be applied at each diaper change. Then I realized that out of all the diapers I had sent that day, only one had been used. (Yes, I began counting them!) So, this meant that for almost 9 hours, he had only been changed ONCE! And he was dry as a whistle, so that meant they had changed him just before picking him up! What losers! I also witnessed CARMEN yelling and being very ugly to a child that seemed retarted or slow. That was uncalled for. I even shot back a look at her in disgust. She didn't like it, so what. You never talk to a child like that. SHE being in childcare should know better. Obviously this daycare is more of a cash cow to her and she DOESN'T care, not at all. I vowed that I would never take him there again! I LEFT to never return! I took my child to work with me a few days the next week, and to my luck, a family member of ours became available to start watching him after that. PLEASE DON'T SUBMIT YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS HORRIBLE PLACE!
