i have had some bad and good experiences there. i brought my car in, which was running rough but started every time, and mysteriously, after they gave me the estimate for $2200 work, the next time i went to drive it, it wouldn't start. i was somewhat suspicious. until 2 people i know told me similar stories, so i guess it's a sign that something is wrong there. i've had a few okay experiences, but now i wonder if i was gouged for parts (i felt like it at the time but felt helpless). got quoted 180 bucks for a part that i looked up, a geniune ford part, that costed $26. so... i wish someone would recommend a good mechanic as well as critique them. is there a fair, competant mechani in evanston?
