Review content:
I recently switched to Gold’s Gym on 280 because of a job change and I have mixed feelings about it. This is my thoughts after about four months with the gym:
The Good: The people are very nice. You always see a smile coming in and going out. The weight equipment is superb, anything you could possible want. The cardio equipment is excellent as well, there is always something open for use. Plus, they have a movie cardio room where you can what a movie in a theater while running, cycling, etc. Also, all the classes are included with your membership and require no sign up, just show up.
The Bad: Contracts. They want you to sign a long contract, something in the neighborhood for two years. As a contractor that switches jobs often, that’s just not an option for me. So instead I opted for a month to month obligation that really cost me. Which brings me to my next bad point, Cost. I am paying $75 a month, which is a “VIP” membership, although I don’t know what that means really. But even the rates with a long contract were over $50 a month. Another downside was no pool, you would think for those high rates you would have a pool, but you would be wrong.
Overall, a nice facility, but they sure are overly proud of it. I’ll likely be looking elsewhere soon.
