I'm a bit partial here, b/c Abuelo's is my absolute favorite restaurant in Amarillo. I have eaten at Abuelo's on a weekly basis (for several years) and I can count on one hand the amount of times I have been disappointed. My favorite appetizer would be the layered dip or the queso, you can't go wrong either way. I almost always order the chicken fajita chimichanga, which is excellent! They have the best papas I have ever eaten, although I have heard that their rice is great too (I always get the papas so I wouldn't know). This is a family, but it never gets uncomfortably loud. It is a great place to go for a working lunch, on a date, or take the entire family. They have excellent prime rib on the weekends and the service is always great too!
