Review content:
We were regular customers at China Buffet (in the Big Lots Plaza). But I've finally had enough and I will never go back.
To get the food hot, you have to be there before 11am when they open. For the remainder of the day, you will get cool to warm food at best. I've gone at all different times of the day and night to test this out and I am dead on...the food is NEVER hot. The veggies get old and wilted, the meat is SOGGY and the breaded things like fried fish or shrimp or eggrolls and sweet and sour chicken are stale.
The last time I went was for a dinner and we arrived at 8:00. They are open until 11:00 so I knew we had plenty of time. Well, two parties came in after us and not a single dish was put out. The trays were all empty except for some unedible scraps. Nothing was offered at all...not even the empty dishes that merit the hefty extra charge for dinner pricing like crap, fish, muscles or shrimp. I paid dinner prices for one bowl of cold soup.
Needless to say, I will never give them another chance. If you want hot, delicious, authentic chinese food, go to China Garden on Portage Rd. It's not much to look at and the clientel has a lot to be desired...but it's worth it because they have the most consistent and delicious food going. I've been to every Chinese Restaurant in the area several times so trust me...this is the best! Good eats!
