I've been to Sushi Moto a couple times. The first time was with my family. There was a total of about 7 or 8 of us. Honestly, after that visit I thought the sushi was actually not bad for the North end of Seattle. Also the service was decent as well. However my personal belief is that because we had a big group (which they knew that our group would probably equal a huge bill) is why we got that kind of service. Because low and behold, I took my girlfriend there a couple months later and it was a horrible experience. Now don't get me wrong, I know this restaurant isn't expected to be a five star, high class establishment. It's just one of those local family sushi restaurants, which are some of my favorite places to dine. My belief is that if your business is professional and gives outstanding service, they would give the same service and food quality to a group of 10+ business people that they would give to a young couple out dining. There was only 2 of us, and we went around a time that was not so busy. The service was terribly slow and the waitress was not friendly at all and seemed to look down at us. We did not feel welcome at all. We both ordered the Bento. The food was awful. There were 2-3 cold/dry edamame. The California roll was very very salty. And the salmon was very poor quality. Maybe because it was a slow time of the day? Anyways, the service was just as bad. Now I am the type of person who tips very well if the service is good. Honestly...... I will even tip very well if the service is mediocre. However this was the only time in my life I didn't tip a restaurant because of the horrible service. So when we left, obviously seeing that we didn't leave a tip, one of the waitresses actually FOLLOWED us out to our car, stood in the entry door holding the door open and glared at us with the dirtiest, scolding look on her face until we drove away. I was speechless. I now ask everyone: How professional is that???? Now like I said, the first time I went there with my family, the food was actually not bad at all. I would've actually recommended the place. After I went with my girlfriend, even if it was just the food that was not to my liking but the service was great, I would not have even wrote this review. It was the uncalled for treatment and actions of their waitress staff that has forced me to state my opinion.
