Review content:
I went to this place shopping for a 2007 Prius. I’d done a lot of research beforehand, but still was very put-off by the condescending attitude of the salesperson I had to deal with. Maybe that should have been a warning sign, but omens be damned, I wanted that Prius, even if it meant putting up with a jerk in a tie and short sleeves for a few hours. After some quite tedious back and forth over the price, we did finally settled on a price that was agreeable. Or so I thought. When it was time to deal with the finance manager and sign the contract, I was incensed to find that they were trying to sneak in a much higher interest rate than the one they’d already promised. Look, I get how this sort of thing works. If you’re not paying attention, unscrupulous salespeople will milk that for all its worth. I suppose what I found most infuriating was the self-righteous tone they took when I called them on it. The sleazy general manager began shouting at me, and arguing that I was the one at fault! I really don’t know how else to characterize the people I had to deal with, other than as unprofessional, and downright immoral. I hope that if you do decide to shop here, you’ll be very, very careful, and that you have a thick-skin when it comes to people generally insulting your intelligence with games and low-balling tactics. In general, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and don’t want to leave bad reviews over every little minor annoyance. But in this instance, I really feel morally obligated to share my very poor experience with everyone else. If I hadn’t been paying attention the entire time, the general manager of this dealership would have happily jobbed me out of a few extra thousand bucks. In short, if you want to be treated like an idiot and don’t mind being ripped off, by all means, give this place a shot. Otherwise, I would strongly recommend Fremont Toyota, where there was a refreshing lack of sleaziness and I was able to get a better deal in half the time I wasted at this place.
