Max's was "ROBBED"........not by armed gunmen, but by the KCRA A-List poll. Max's was leading in the voting during most of the competition, but was beaten in the last few days by "Mr Pickles". C'mon, a chain sandwich shop? Looks like someone rigged the votes!!!
all joking aside, this is a World-Class Lunch Place (WCLP) in Auburn CA.
The pastrami on rye, although not as big as the Carnegie Deli in NYC, is very tasty. The mustard dressing on the rye bread is incredibly awesome.
The #6 (Turkey Breast, avocado, on Ciabatta roll) is my personal favorite, and also my wife's too.
Sandwich, chips, and a drink will set you back around $7.75. Not cheap, but the quality is extremely high.
DO NOT attempt to come in this place during the Lunch Rush (12 noon to 1 pm), because Max's gets swamped by the Placer County office workers from the nearby county offices in Auburn, CA.
BEST DELI AND SANDWICH SHOP in the Sacramento Area. Take that, KCRA!!!
