Review content:
Pho Saigon opened a few months ago on S. Mason in Katy. We tried it not long after I had my wisdom teeth out - I figured noodles would be soft and easy to eat.
I ended up getting the Chicken Noodle Soup with white and dark meat (#42. Pho Ga Hon Hop, small $4.75, large $5.75). It was SO GOOD. Ive never had Chicken Noodle Soup like it - it was so wholesome and full of flavor. You could tell it was "home made" - no out of the box/can stuff. A beansprout salad with a cold spicy mint dressing came with it, that was also good. I even had leftovers for the next day.
My husband got the Charbroiled Sliced Pork with steamed rice and fried egg roll (#53 Com Thit Nuong Cha Gio, $6.25). He loved it! This is what we both order now when we take-out. Its so flavorful and yet so "down-home". There's nothing greasy about it. The Egg Roll is WONDERFUL - I cant wait to sink my teeth into it. It all smells so good on the way home.
You know what you're eating from Pho Saigon is actually good for you, and that's really nice to have when you're like us and you eat out all the time. This is the best alternative to any fast food, Panda Express and Uncle Lee's included - this isn't like that at all. I read a review of this place on BeforeUEat which said the reviewer eats there 2 - 3 times a week. I can really see why. Its affordable ($13 for 2), its healthy and "home cooked", its fast, and there's a huge selection to choose from.
Be sure to ask for a take-out menu when you go in. If you dine in you'll be happy with the clean and open dining area which is nicely decorated. The staff are very nice as well. Both take-out and dine-in are very fast, about 10 minutes.
I just love this place!
