Review content:
We bought our Subaru from a dealer in Reisterstown, although we were living in Ellicott City at the time. We had checked out Russel but didn't like their salespeople--they were gearing up for a big Volkswagen sale when we stopped by and they were just being weird about showing us Subaru's (only let us test drive one, and just for about four or five blocks). So I was nervous about going back to have our routine service done at Russel, but we decided to anyway just because it was so much closer.
Our experience in their service department was much different than in their sales department. The office personnel and mechanics were all courteous and attentive, they did all of the service well and in record time. The shop area and waiting areas were clean and comfortable, and even the reading material wasn't too bad (there was the occasional People magazine in with the Car and Drivers and Field and Streams). They have a van service that not only happily drove me home, but stopped at the bank on the way (hey, they knew if I didn't deposit that check they wouldn't get paid!) and picked me up from work downtown one day.
Of course you pay for all of this, which is why I gave only a "good" rating--their repair and service costs are way higher than average (although not unusual for dealer service) while the work they do is really no better than anywhere else.
