Its a different kind of bowling....with different rules. It's NOT "only for kids" and in some ways is more challenging than ordinary bowling....easier to start, and more difficult to master. ...and of course, very kid friendly because the balls are small and light and the pins aren't as skinny as candlepins.
Strikes are less common, and the perfect game has never been rolled,so it's obviously a challenging game for those who want to try it along with their kids.
Yes, the place is run down, but duckpins seem to be disappearing from the face of the earth so that's no surprise.
I doubt that there are any ultra Neutron Core Super Devastator Techno Balls with personalized carry bags being manufactured either.
It's more of a Baltimore thing than a New England thing....
