I was in this store this morning, and at the register, I was told by a young man, that instead of using a EBT card, I should go out and get a job.I didn't need to explain myself, as I had with me my severely disabled child, in a wheelchair, and on oxygen. Let alone the insults from the cashier were unfounded, but the disgust on other patrons faces for this child that is handicapped, thru no fault of her own, but due to a drunk driver, that rammed her fathers car, and she was a passenger that had no choice as a 2 year old. The people at TOPS should be ashamed of themselves., and as a new family to the Town and Village of Alden, You can bet your bottom dollar, I will never shop at Tops in Alden again, and would rather drive the extra 15 miles to the closest WEGMANS, where my child is accepted by all.Now if someone would give this welfare mom a job in Business to Business Collections, at a rate of pay that is fair, I wouldn't have to use food stamps for my daughter, but until that happens, it is food stamps that i must rely on. I can see that the people of Alden are closed minded, and as soon as I can get enough $$$$ together, I will move back to the Hamburg area. I only sought fresh air for her, and this is what we get...."try working for a living" and the stares of upper class patrons. Do you all know that an accident could happen too you also, to your children, or the loss of your husband or wife...Think about it before being so judgmental.
