We visited The Ram in Lakewood on a Thursday night in December 2006 with a few friends of ours. In total, there were 4 adults and 2 toddlers in the party. We were originally told a 15-20 minute wait; that wait turned out to be more than a half hour. When we were taken to a table, we waited more than 15 minutes for the server to greet us. We ordered drinks and food for the kids, who, at this point, were getting pretty hungry. We waited another 15 minutes before the server returned with the drinks, but no kid food. He took our order and split. We then waited another 15 minutes or so, when my wife got fed up and asked the hostess to check on the kids mac and cheese. The hostess (who was very good) at least brought the kid's little appetizers. We actually waited a whole hour in total for the kids food. The adult's food arrived only minutes after the kid's food did, for a total wait of about 50 minutes, and, we had to ask the expo (also very good) about our meal. Our food was lukewarm and the Ram Chips were stale. All this time, we didn't receive a single refill on iced tea from the server. We were able once to coerce another server for a refill. The kids also didn't receive their desserts, and when we asked for a box from the server, that never came. He did have the nerve to "upsell" gift cards on us. We didn't even get a discount on our meals. We filled out a comment card, and even spoke to a manager, who said he'll send out a gift certificate. It has been a month now... My wife and I both have extensive experience in the restaurant business, both in the front and back of the house. And this was the worst either of us have ever seen at any of the restaurants we have either worked at or visited. The only positives were from the obviously stressed expo and hostesses. We have enjoyed the Ram in the past; I've even brought large groups from work for functions at the Lakewood Ram, but we will never visit this particular restaurant again.
