Review content:
For the New Year we got a bit of an undesirable surprise when my husband had to visit the emergency room at Oakwood Heritage Hospital due to pain in his abdomen. When we first got to the ER, we were asked to fill out the usual paperwork and handed a beeper like they give you at restaurants when you're waiting for your table. We were afraid that wasn't a good sign and that we'd be waiting a long time but we were quickly taken back, pain assessed and treatment rendered in a reasonable amount of time. The doctors and nurses were so wonderful and cared for my husband in such a professional but compassionate manner.
My husband required surgery for a ruptured appendicitis which ultimately needed to be removed. The staff kept me informed all along and even allowed me into recovery after the surgery since it was taking a while to get him moved to a room.
His stay stretched into four extensive days but the nurses were incredibly accommodating and even allowed my two young children to visit their daddy and never limited our visits.
Before this week I wasn't even aware that the hospital existed. My uncle was admitted a few days earlier for an unrelated issue and when my husband needed care I took him to the same hospital as a convenience. I couldn't have been more pleased with the decision or the care our entire family received.
A great big thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Oakwood Heritage Hospital!
