My parents gave us a gift certificate for an overnight stay, to say the least I was not sure where they were sending us to. We live in Springfield area and haven't been to Old Sturbridge Villiage in years so we gave it a go. Mom & Dad were right on! Our entire meal was just so good. Intrigued by the Pork Shank at our neighbors table I took a chance. Let's just say I had no problem polishing off the last morsel! Jorge had the German dish Saurbraten and potato pancakes with salmon. Oh don't forget the Cream of Mushroom Soup, definitely the best I ever had. We didn't have room for dessert so our waiter offered to deliver it to our bedroom and lighted some candles. It was a nice touch to have room service in a small place like Vienna. Rooms were very clean and unusually not like a hotel room, feeling more like a friends home with a butler! Ask for Breakfast to be brought to your room in the morning. We had Austrian crepes with a raspberry jelly and great coffee but it didn't have a thermos and it was only warm after the first cup. 45 minutes from Springfield - it was a great escape.
