At 9:25 P.M. on 12/18/06, my wife and I along with my daughter and a friend visited Wendy's. My wife ordered, and the cashier would not even look at us and kept saying in a rude tone "Is that all". When we got our order I felt that it cost too much and looked at the receipt (ticket #29 at register #2 cashier was Lizzette M). I asked for the receipt and began to look at it and noticed that they charged us for three extra 5-pc nuggets and did not give us an order of fries. A line began to form and I explained to the clerk of the error and was told she would be with me in a minute. She finished with the one order, then helped another individual and then a third customer was waited on. Finally, since my dinner was getting cold, I asked to speak with the manager. The manager came over to the cash register and to keep it away from the other customers I asked if he would speak with me over by the side door which he complied. He never had eye contact with me, gave the attitude that he did not care. I explained the entire situation to him (Jose Rodriguez) about the clerks attitude, the problem with the overcharging and the fact that I did not get one order of fries. He responded "I can't give you all your money back." I told him that was not what I wanted, that I wanted the error corrected. He told me he would be right back, and brought $5.00 and some change. I told him that was too much money, and he said "this is the money for the three orders of 5-pc nuggets and the order of fries". I told him again (third time around) that I appreciate the refund for the nuggets, but that I did not get my order of fries. He told me that he would bring out a free order of fries, and by this time my food was cold, I was tired of explaining myself and I told him that was not what I was wanting as the customer service was the worst that I have ever seen in a restaurant in Garden City. I asked for the owner's name and he told me Beatrice Mercardo and "she's not here". I understand human error and mistakes; but it is the principal of the lack of customer service from the cashier to the manager was not acceptable. I would hope that you would work on this area, as we have been in Wendy's on several occasion's over the past 22-years and have enjoyed it.
