Businiess name:  Port Discovery Children's Msm
Review by:  Sarah A.
Review content:
When Port Discovery opened several years ago, I was quite excited--finally something in Baltimore geared towards children that was more culturally appealing than Six Flags. Unfortunately, Port Discovery hasn't lived up to its promise. The times that I have been have been plagued with problems--exhibits are not kept up well, have pieces falling apart or missing, and are even dirty, as if the facility isn't kept properly clean. There is very little there for young children--one small room designed for preschoolers that isn't much more interesting than the children's section of Barnes and Noble. For elementary school children, it's a bit better--the exhibits are geared towards this age range, but again, because of quality control problems, kids don't seem to get much out of it. And it's expensive. I don't mind the $8.50 admission for children so much, but charging $11.00 for adults is crazy--there's nothing there for them! Port Discovery would do better to charge less for adults to encourage them to come and bring their kids. Frankly, if I want something fun and appealing for the family, I'll take them to the Science Center or the National Aquarium.
