The following morning after my phone interview with Sylvester Stallone, I was scheduled for a CT-Myelogram for a more thorough look at my spine and the cysts. This is something that I had put off for awhile because I was told in advance that it would be very uncomfortable. Although the MRI spotted the tarlov cysts on my spine, the CT-Myelogram would give a closer view of the affected areas.. The procedure itself entails putting a large needle into the spine much like that of a saddle block. A radiopaque dye is than injected throughout the cerebrospinal fluid inside the dura to outline the spinal cord and nerve roots. This creates a clear picture from the x-ray. There is so much truth in how our thoughts can make even the most stressful event tolerable. By this time I focused my mind on the day before and the thrill of it all enough to make it through my testing. My discharge instructions were quite clear bed rest for 48 hours with your head on one pillow. You may only be up for meals and to use the bathroom. I dare not ask the doctor about attending the screening of Rocky Balboa tomorrow I would just play that by ear. The nurses and staff at St. Joseph Hospital were all very accommodating and pleasant. The entire process went a lot easier than I expected.
