Businiess name:  Doubletree By Hilton Hotel Denver-Aurora

Review content:
I’ve stayed at the DoubleTree in Aurora, Colorado twice now and I’d have to say that I’m a little less than enthusiastic. The first stay must have been during some sort of convention or something and the handicap room I received was said to be the last non-smoking room they had available. (The cost was double that of the second visit.) It was a ground floor room that appeared to have fallen off the maintenance schedule some time ago. The bathroom lighting fixture didn’t work at all and had to be completely replaced after we checked in. The room just had an overall “forgotten” feel to it. The beds were very comfortable with a down cover and down pillows, however, there were *filthy* pillows on the bed for the first visit. They have throw pillows leaning against the bed pillows and these pillows are not changed out from one customer to the next, nor do they have a removable, cleanable covers! My pillows were COVERED with all kinds of disgusting hair and multi-colored smudges! I left a note for the maid not to put them back on the bed and they then remained on the floor of my room with my note for the rest of my stay. (And I feel sure they simply went BACK on the bed for the next unfortunate guest.) The rooms have an old-style heating/cooling unit that is noisy and often non-functional. I couldn’t get the second room to cool at all and the unit kept turning on and off all night. Both rooms had bathrooms too small to operate in and stingy housekeeping that didn’t replace things like tissues and toilet paper. (I had to call the front desk on both visits.) The lobby is, barring water stains on the carpet, attractive. The restaurant seemed adequate. The wait staff there appeared to be friendly enough. Their website advertises free tickets to various things depending on when you book your stay. After two visits, I’ve never received any tickets. I asked after them once and, after having been left waiting by a rude woman at the front desk for ten minutes, was told that they had only received 5 tickets and they had all been distributed! Ughh… The best thing about the visit was the chocolate chip cookie that was issued at check-in.
