All they care about is selling their Wellness Plans, even when you purchase one as I made the mistake of doing, or should I say I was pressured into it, they try to charge you for extra services. They are on production and get bonuses for selling wellness plans. We came in for an exam and distemper shots for both dogs and they presented us with a bill of $688. minutes later. Then came all the high pressure sales to join their plan and our fee would be $268. instead. but we would pay monthly for one year for wellness plans for both dogs(69.90 we had the Optimum). Seeing we did not have an extra $688. on us at the time, this is what we had to do. All exams would be free on this plan, but think about it, if they do anything you pay! Big deal I can look at my dogs for free and another vet will charge a fraction of they charge to really do something. They also try to charge you for things that are to be covered on your plan. I had to call them on it twice. After that I just went back to my previous Vet, enough is enough. Also they never gave me a copy of the contract at my first appointment. They gave me so much paperwork I thought it was in there. I had to call and have them fax me one. It states that you only can stop your contract if you pay their regular fees, or pay for the remaining months left in your plan year. Also in fine print they will keep charging you into the next year if you do not give them 30 days written notice of cancellation. This is so sad, now I know why pets are waiting for homes, with tactics like these our pets are not affordable. Also they want you to drop your dog off for the comprehensive exam and pick the dog up later. I told them I wanted to be present, and they all kept trying to get me to leave him. What's that about? It took them less than 10 minutes to do their exams and see an outrageous bill that I would have gotten if I was not on the plan. Being present I could see our regular vet charged 32. for what they told me would be $150. Last of all my dog had problems not detected by all their expensive exams, that my other vet found.
