Dependable Auto Shippers, Inc. (aka DAS) is the automobile transportation outfit which we used when we relocated from NY to FL. They shipped two cars for us. When the cars were delivered our brand spanking new mustang convertible had a dent in the door. The other car we had shipped was totaled. The car had been parked in a holding lot in NJ. It had been struck from multiple sides (as in multiple accidents). They offered to pay for the totaled car, however wanted to keep the $700 shipping fee. When I refused the money for the car, they finally offered to fix the totaled car. They paid for a rental car for me but refused to cover the insurance. It took 17 days for my car to be repaired and I had to pay $10 per day for rental insurance. During the entire endeavor they constantly avoided or did not return phone calls and were generally unavailable and incompetent.
When I spoke to my companies relocation representative they informed me that that was the first time they had used DAS. Of the six cars shipped in the one week period three had some form of damage upon arrival. I will never again use Dependable Auto Shippers, Inc. and I would encourage you to do the same
