I went thru the drive thru today, Wednesday, October 18, 2006 ordering 2 #2 Combos with diet cokes and no ice.The menu showed the price as $5.09 each. My ticket was rang up as 2 #2 combos at $6.80 and 2 diet cokes at $3.38 with a sub-total as $10.18, tax at $.81 and a Total of $10.18. I gave the cashier a SOUTHERN SHOPPER certificate and said I owed $1.26 in tax(tax is not included on the certificate). After arriving home, I got to thinking that was too much tax. My certificate is worth $10.00, so I should have only paid $.81 which is the tax on the total of my order PLUS the $.18 that was over the $10.00 making me pay only $.99. I called and spoke with a MANAGER and she said that when she rang the order up she did not know I was using the certificate and that it should have been rung up as individual items, thus making it actually higher than my receipt showed and the $1.26 WAS the correct amount I should have paid. I do not understand this. I know it only a small amount that is in question, but my money is hard to come by and small change does add up to higher amounts. I called back to get the lady's name who I spoke with and the person who answered the phone hung up on me. I then called back and the same thing happened again. Upon calling back the third time, the lady who I spoke with answered the phone this time, but refused to give me her name saying she DID NOT HAVE TO GIVE IT TO ME. I want an answer to why the tax was more than it should be and also to let you know how your MANAGER and other 2 employees acted. I have worked in the public's midst for many years and we were always told to treat the customer with respect, to give our first name whenever asked and to make sure we satisfied the customers requests or get someone else to help answer their questions. I feel your MANAGER needs better training or maybe more rules need to be instilled with your company
