St. George Inn The St. George Inn is located in downtown, historic St. Augustine on the north end of St. George St. The inn has three buildings and is well maintained. They were pet friendly and did not even charge a pet fee for our two small dogs. They had upgraded us to a suite that sat above a small shop and looked out directly at the old fort and harbor. What a beautiful view. Out the other window the old grist mill and Mill Top Tavern could be seen. The big king size bed was phenomenally comfortable. Our room was fantastic except for the stairs. In the particular suite that we stayed in there was a spiral staircase leading up to the bedroom. My wife could not get used to it. The room was already on the second floor, which meant to go to bed at the end of a long day of walking required climbing two flights of stairs. I would give the inn 5 stars personally but I think my wife would take of a half a point for the spiral staircase. The next time we go back, and we definitely will go back, we will have to get another room. Don’t miss your chance to stay in this fantastic inn! One word of caution on staying downtown, the bars stay open late and most have live music. If you don’t like to stay up late don’t stay in the building next to the Mill Top Tavern. If you do, there is a nice wrap around porch on the building with rocking chairs where you can sit and listen to some good tunes!
