Review content:
We visited Towne Tavern at Fort Mill for the first time tonight and are kicking ourselves for not trying it sooner. Conveniently located on Highway 160 in Fort Mill, this will definitely become a regular stop for our family. There is plenty of table seating, as well as a bar to hang out or dine at. Several TVs offer a variety of sports options for your viewing pleasure. The atmosphere is loud and upbeat, perfect for watching the game or enjoying a casual meal with friends and family.
The food at the Tavern is superb and just what these former Buffalonians have been craving. The large, loaded potato skins served with a side of sour cream were the perfect start to our meal - the portion was huge so we even had some to take home! The house dressing is delicious on the side salad. The fish fry (HADDOCK!!) is cooked to perfection, and the large portion is served with delicious tartar sauce and handcut fries. Their beef on weck tasted just like "home" and was served with a side of horseradish.
Prices at the Tavern are very reasonable and there are specials on various nights, including kids eat free night on Tuesdays. Our waiter kept our drinks full and our table cleared. Danny, the owner, is quite personable and easy to talk to. We enjoyed talking about Buffalo, especially the Sabres and Bills.
I highly recommend the Towne Tavern at Fort Mill and can't wait to bring friends and family here to get a taste of authentic Buffalo food. Don't worry - they serve sweet tea ;)
