When needing some work on my old sewing machine, I went to Shield's Sewing Center in the Sycamore Mall in Iowa City. They were able to get me a new foot pedal that would work with my old machine at a small fraction of the cost of going to the Viking Center. I had not wanted to have to buy a new machine as my sewing is limited these days, but if I were in the market I would certainly go here. They sell and service a variety of sewing machine brands. My daughter went there to get a new Simplicity sewing machine and was very happy with the sales staff. The 40 years of experience in the sewing machine business shows in the staff's knowledge of machines and repair issues. They also stock replacement parts and accessories for sewing machines. The staff carried my heavy old machine to and from my vehicle when I had them service it. This kind of service ethis is important in an age when so much of that has been lost to businesses.
Their location in the Sycamore Mall makes them easy to find and you will always have parking available. If you are looking for good slaes and service in the sewing machine world this business is sew right for you.
