Ever looking for something to do with the family?? Well, go to Space Farms, Sussex NJ. http://www.spacefarms.com/
I had no idea what to expect when we went last year but much to my surprise it was like a huge zoo. Not your ordinary zoo, with small cages and a few critters, but they had all types of animals imaginable, more than 500 animals of 100 different species, and in large habitats. Granted, nothing matches the wild when it comes to animals, ie. tigers, lions, elephants but what Space Farms has is quite comparable.
I was very happy to see that these wild animals had space to roam and they were well taken care of. (We watched feedings of the big cats).
They have a museum which contains 50,000+ artifacts, including antique cars, motorcycles, farm tools, early American tools, toys, clocks, tractors, horse drawn sleighs, and Native American artifacts. "Space Farms also has the second largest privately owned collection of antique firearms in the United States"(exerpt taken from website), and a small snack bar/restaurant for your eating needs.
The admission price is also very reasonable.
I enjoyed it thoroughly. (Some of the pics I have posted are from Space Farms too.)
Highly recommend!
