Review content:
Do "easy" and "wedding dress shopping" really belong together in the same sentence? For me they did. When I went to David's Bridal, I was just going because they had a great sale going on and I felt I would be doing myself a disservice if I didn't go and at least take a look. I had a few pictures of dresses I wanted to try on and the helpful saleswoman also showed me my size dresses on the rack so I could pick out a few more. The saleswoman lined them up for me on the rack and made sure to keep separate the ones I immediately discarded. She brought some slippers I could use to try on the dresses with to get the right look and feel. Low and behold, the dress I tried on second to last, that I picked off the rack, was The One. And it was on sale. I decided that was too good to pass up, so I bought my dress over a year before my wedding date with no hassle. The kindly saleswoman then brought over a couple of veils to try on and I found the perfect one.
I will say that the price the saleswoman quoted me was $100 less than the actual price. And I am none too fond of the fact that David's Bridal doesn't seem to have a policy in print for my file (re: when you buy the dress off the rack, cleaning & pressing are free). However, it is supposed to be a chain wide policy so I'll hope it holds when I take the dress in next year.
All in all, with the great selection and helpful sales people, I would recommend at least giving David's Bridal a try. You just never know what treasure you might find!
