Review content:
I had an awful day yesterday. My wheelchair broke the night before. I called the answering service when it happened and they said that they called the emergency service and the emergency service never called them back. So when my aide came to work that morning, she informed me that Blackburn’s said that they wasn’t going to fix my chair until today I said what? I have two appointments today, and how will I go to the bathroom? Well, the answers to the questions were not pretty. I had to cancel both my appointments, stay in bed all day, and go to the bathroom using a bedpan. Let me take you back a few years, It will be three years in November that WV Medicaid bought the electric wheelchair for me. I was having problems with another vendor. So someone told me that a company called Blackburn’s was starting in the area and they needed customers. So I decided to give them a try. The gentleman was really nice who sold me the chair, but it soon became quite apparent that they didn’t want to drive the hour and 45 minutes to fix my chair. I have had a lot of problems with this chair. So they have had to come out quite a few times taking their sweet old time to do it. I have since got them two more customers in West Virginia maybe more. I have waited since June to get my joystick back. I still have not gotten that back. If they didn’t want to properly take care of West Virginia customers, they should have never expanded their business. My wheelchair is like a body part without it, I can not do the necessary things that I have to in my life. Did they care? No all they cared about were that they had another West Virginia customer already scheduled for today. So they could take care of us both in one day. Medical vendors like the control they have over our lives. One vendor will not fix the wheelchair because you bought it from another vendor. There needs to be federal legislation to stop this nonsense. We are the customers without us. They would not have jobs. Anyway I hope they keep their word and come out today. They are also supposed to bring a loaner chair, because I think one of the motors might have burned up in it. I also hope they bring my wheelchair back faster than three months. I won’t let it slide this time. I will keep calling until they bring it back. I will keep all of you out there updated on the details.
