I got the pleasure to go to Idlewild Park twice this summer. Even though it is mostly for kids, because Storybook Forest is also there. I had a great time watching the kids have fun. We got to see the old woman in the shoe’s house and many other storybook tales. It brings you back to your childhood. They have kiddie rides for the small kids. It is great to see the look of enjoyment and innocence on their faces.
Of course, Idlewild also has their famous soak zone. I can’t tell you much about it because I did not ask disability questions either time that I went. I should have, but I didn’t. I was more concerned about the kids having a good time. My dream would be to ride the log jammer. So if it is accessible or ever becomes accessible. I would like to ride it. They also have the Ferris Wheel, the spider, and a roller coaster.
They have several neat shops where you can buy sojourners. They also have a photo place where you can get your picture taken in old fashion 1800's clothes. They have an ice cream place that has the best ice cream, and it has the old-fashioned waffle cones. They have many places to eat. They also have a stage where music is played. The folks at Idlewild will sure keep you and the kids busy for the day. Price for admission is $23.95, seniors get in for $15.95 and children two and under get in free. The only thing I don’t like about this amusement Park is they should have information about which rides people with disabilities can ride posted, or give some information about it when you have to pay and get your wristbands, Also if senior citizens get a discount, people with disabilities should as well.
