My husband, our 3 kids and myself went to Famous Dave's not to long ago, and might I say it did *not* hit the shot. I was *quite* disappointed with this restaurant. The wait wasn't to awfully bad, about 10 minutes or so. Once we got back to the table my husband had ordered some ribs as he had been 'craving' them something horrible, and myself a chicken & Herbs platter. The kids had mac & cheese, & hamburgers.
So we wait for what seems like an eternity for our food to get to the table (longer then usual). So finally our food has arrived. It looked very good, very appetizing. My husband & I tried our food at the same time. My hubby remarked "Man these ribs suck" and my chicken....It was the most disgusting chicken I had ever tasted in my life. Not to mention, to me it looked like it had a bit of a pinkish tint to it....though I couldn't be for sure because of the lighting. My husband said that the ribs had no flavor & they were the worst he had ever ate. My chicken, as I said, was so not good. The best way to describe it would be almost bitter tasting b/c of the herbs/seasoning whatever. So I proceeded to eat my beans that came with it. That was not happening either. It just did not taste right. My kids didn't even eat all their food either! They said it was "yucky" and they didn't like it. And my kids will eat just about anything - *especially* mac & cheese & hamburgers which is what they got.
The waitress was nice. It was not her fault the food was not good. I did get really sick to my stomach after trying teh food & told hubby that I was going to complain. He told me to just leave it alone...we just won't EVER go back. But for $60 for 2 adults & 3 kids (6,4 & 3)I--- we shoulda complained!
Lastly, if you do decide to dine here, be in for a not so quiet evening. It is pretty loud, and people tend to get a bit obnoxious here hootn' and hollaring & carrying on. It just was not for us. My husband said it best "WHY is Dave So Famous, WHAT did he do!?"
