My son went through a train phase and it was so nice to be able to take him on an old time engine. We've not been during their annual "Day out with Thomas" because he's more a "real" train fan, but I have heard that it can be scary for some kids because it's crowded and the trains can be loud. We went on a train that took us through the woods and gave us history of the area and the trains and a bit about the flora and fauna of the area. It kept my interest, but that's a bit boring for the kids, but don't worry, they're too busy watching the brakeman, watching for where the train tracks switch, making train noises. It's a bit pricey, but it's also not something you do everyday. I would love to make it to one of their summer barbeques or take one of their wine trains.
