Businiess name:  Kandlestix of Old Town
Review by:  Kathleen M.
Review content:
My fiance and I wanted a special unity candle to light during our wedding ceremony. We had shopped at Kandlestix several times before we began to plan our wedding (in fact, he shopped there before he even met me), so it was a natural choice when we decided to have our unity candle made. Kandlestix makes all kinds of beautiful candles on their premises. In fact, it's like a performance every time a candle artist makes a candle. On one side of the candle-making area is a storefront glass display window so that people outside the store can watch and people inside the store crowd around to see, too. A candle core is dipped into hot wax which quickly dries. Layers are then added with additional dippings and then the candle is carved into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Different artisans make candles on a regular basis throughout each day and, if not made with someone special in mind, these candles are placed on display for sale. The designer carvers will happily personalize a candle for you at no additional charge from what the previously made carved candles on display are priced. We had a huge flat candle carved with the elephant nose design http://www.kandlestixofoldtown.com/901167.html in our wedding colors of soft pale peach and cream. We then chose one of their sayings http://www.kandlestixofoldtown.com/1039580.html http://www.kandlestixofoldtown.com/1039581.html , which they used to further personalize our candle. We watched with excitement and nervousness as our candle was being created. When the crowd realized the candle was being made for us and that we were the couple getting married, we received a hearty round of applause. We couldn't have been more thrilled with the finished product. You might want to have them personalize your candle with a copy of your wedding invitation or one of your own favorites poem, the words from your special song or a saying that has special meaning to you. The choices for personalizing your candle are multitudinous. We also bought a pair of matching carved 10" tapers with which we lit our unity candle. It made a beautiful display when arranged at the end of the garden in which we were married and the lighting of it added a very meaningful step to our ceremony.
