Ok this is for everyone resident or tourist who is planning on getting married here in Sevier county TN. With so much going on I wanted to remind you to not forget your marriage license. Our county clerks office works double time on trying to keep up with all that they do. They always seem to be in a fairly good mood, and try to be helpful in letting you know what you need to do to obtain this license. It is harder for a resident to get a license then a tourist, not sure why on that one. There are several office's open on the weekends as well for your convience; Sevierville Monday - Thursday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Gatlinburg Monday and Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Wednesday 8:30 am to 12:00 pm Saturday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Pigeon Forge Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Here are some things you need to know; If you are a Tennessee Resident, you will now pay $98.50 for a Marriage License. You may attend a 4 (four) hour premarital preparation course and present a certificate of completion to waive the $60.00 fee accessed for not taking this course. All Non-Tennessee Residents getting married in Sevier County will pay $38.50. If either you or your spouse has a Tennessee Drivers License you will be charged $98.50. A few things to remember before driving to one of The Sevier County Clerk's Locations: Both the Bride and Groom Must be 18 years old. (Circumstances where one or both persons are under 18 (minors) Both the Bride and Groom must have either a valid drivers license or birth certificate. If you are not a citizen of the United States, please bring your valid passport. Previously married persons must know the approximate date their divorce became official, or the approximate date of a spouse's death. There are no waiting periods or blood tests You may get married the same day as your license is issued You may obtain your license up to 30 days before your wedding date. (Your License is only valid 30 days) Both the Bride and Groom must be present to obtain a License. On there website you can avoid the sometimes long lines by pre ordering your license on line with a credit card and then picking it up in person. That is a real time saver, especially during the summer months, December and February.
