Review content:
While I have mixed feelings about Giant Eagle's Yorktown pharmacy, I will admit that the one great thing about getting your prescriptions at Giant Eagle is getting the fuel perks with them! The money adds up quick and with today's gas prices it helps a lot.
My personal experiences with them haven't been overwhelmingly great, but not really horrid either. They don't seem to be too 'together'. I've given them my new address for the past year and have yet to have it changed on any of my prescriptions. I tell them each time, yet it stays the same. They also seem to have a pretty messed up system to work with. My insurance has changed a couple of times and each time I've given them my new info, including the card yet every time it never fails that they try to put it through on the wrong card again! So between the lack of updated information and the lack of organization I am leery of really using them for important prescriptions.
I've never had anything 'bad' happen like the wrong meds or anything but they just don't seem to have it completely together.
Prices are a bit higher than a lot of other places also. Frontier Pharmacy always beats the price. Giant Eagle will match prices if you tell them what you would pay elsewhere and say where it's at that you would pay that price, or at least they used to but I don't feel like I should be the one making sure they give me the best deal when I'm sick. Go someplace where you know they're usually the best priced.
Help changes constantly also. Not to mention the friendliness factor is a bit less than it could be sometimes.
All in all it's an acceptable place to get your meds but I have to say there are other places that seem a lot better.
