Review content:
I have traveled by Amtrak before. I took the "City of New Orleans" amtrak from Jackson, Mississippi into Chicago, Il. once. I got a very good deal on the tickets.
I had a sleeper car (bedroom deluxe) and my meals were included in the price of the accomodations.
My trip was most enjoyable within the comfort of the deluxe sleeper. There was enough room for my husband and I to sit comfortably and relax during the daytime. When evening came and we went to the dinning car for dinner, our room was prepared for night time sleeping accommodations. The beds were very nicely made and quiet comfortable.
Dining on the train was excellent. I didn't think that the food would be good and I was very surprised. We had a choice of three entrees with vegetables and bread. Dessert was included and our drink was too.
Near our sleeper was a snack cubby with fresh fruit, sodas, water, crackers, etc. available to us.
I will take a trip on the tracks again just as soon as I possibly can because I found it to be a very pleasant experience. I only wish that Amtrak would extend its services and offer rail travel to/from more destinations. This is an experience that everyone should try at least once. I know you would like it.
